Would like to thank helpful staff who very understanding when our elderly dog was poorly in the store. As we have recently lost our little pal we will always remember this kindness. Great that you welcome dogs and also a great selection of healthy plants, would recommend to anyone.
The staff are really helpful. The garden centre is superb. We were going to go into York for lunch, first, but then changed our minds & had lunch at the Wyevale Garden Centre. What a disappointment! The coffee was far too weak. I don't like strong coffee, but this was so weak that we both left it. The lunch was very poor. The Leek & Davidstowe cheddar tart was very good, but the new potatoes were inedible. They were grey & looked like they had had slugs tasting them before me.I am not a fan of boiled white cabbage, to go with such a dish as this. My wife's gammon ham, egg & chips was a surprise. Cold ham does not usually go in place of hot gammon. Very strange combination,. The eggs were good as were the chips. But, come on you cooks at Wyevale. You can do better than this. Let's hope the new kitchen assistant you are advertising for has more of an idea. Finally, having the very good looking scones right in front of the customers, uncovered, is not very hygienic, either. The quality of the food is just as important as the quality of your plants.

A little tricky to find, but a great little site. Facilities are ideal for short or overnight stays - it helps that it was sunny when we camped, so everything was scenic and clean. My daughter, wife and I were very pleased with how tidy, well presented and convenient it was for local food, etc. Will definitely be going back soon. The owners were lovely, very approachable and helpful. Highly recommended for small families, tents and vans.
Great little campsite for motor homes, tents and caravans just outside of York. The toilets and shower are all clean but aren't separated by gender (it's a unisex building). Electricity costs are a bit steep, at £4, but otherwise the camping prices are, given that it's just a 15 minute bike to York's city centre, completely fair. The camping does have a limit of 4 motor homes or buses (a permit thing) and I'd therefore recommend you'd phone ahead if you're running a bit late.

Thanks for another relaxing stay. Will look forward to our next visit.
