Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Upper Poppleton

Beefeater Millfield

York Business Park, White Rose Cl, Nether Poppleton, York YO26 6RL, UK – 01904 787630

Had Premier Inn breakfast here. Amazing food, so much choice. I'm gluten free and they were spot on with that. 100% recommend. Nice restaurant with good lay out. Friendly staff very helpful.

The food is good for the money. For the most part anyway. Although £2.50 for litterally two slices of garlic bread was too much. Free soft drink refills though. So swings and roundabouts

Luigi's

N Field Ln, Upper Poppleton, York YO26 6QF, UK – 01904 785458

Love the food the atmosphere the staff. Lots of energy on a saturday night. Been three times and loved it. Found it better with a group.

Great food, lovely atmosphere but the staff are the real star. Fantastic with the baby and the adults. Only order a calzone if you are very hungry!

Maxi's Chinese Restaurant

Ings Ln, York YO26 6RA, UK – 01904 783898

Delicious food, generous portion sizes, lovely staff and the decor is incredible which gives it a brilliant atmosphere. Will definitely be going back.

I would give it a 3.5 if I could, but sadly my experience was a mixed result. I shall try to describe it as accurately as possible. The positives: The atmosphere and restaurant look absolutely stunning, the staff was very kind and friendly. The Egg Fried Rice and Spicy Chicken was wonderful and so was the soup. The negatives: My table wasn't clean properly as there was a wet stain hidden from view. I felt it just before I had my first drink. The crispy dumplings tasted horrible, though crunchy on the outside, the inside tasted undercooked. The wait time between meals was a bit on the long side. After two drinks, the staff didn't bother to ask if I wanted any more to drink until I was nearly finished with my meal. The menu doesn't describe or explain the contents of each dish and their ingredients, which can be troubling to figure out what to order, for those with allergic reactions or have a distaste for certain foods. The price is alright, but unless significant improvements happen, I shall look elsewhere for Chinese food.
